Letters home, reports, official correspondence and related papers concerning Anderson’s military career, including: letters home, 1877-1885, relating to the operations of the Jowaki-Afridi expedition on the North West Frontier, India, 1877-1885; letters relating to his service with the Peshawar Valley Field Force, Afghanistan, 1878-1880, with accounts of the Battle of Ali Musjid (Ali Masjid), Nov 1878, the Battle of Fatehabad (Futtehabad), Apr 1879, the Battle of Jegdalek, Oct 1879, looting by British forces, deaths due to pneumonia, typhoid and cholera, the siege of the Sherpur Cantonment, Dec 1879, and British advances in the Laghman region, eastern Afghanistan, 1880; a letter home, 1885, relating to the surrender of Burma; report, correspondence and photographs relating to an explosion in the ordnance depot at Ferozepore, India (Firozpur, Pakistan), 1906.
