Secret telegraph no 8753, 15 Oct 1915, from FM Horatio Herbert Kitchener, 1st Earl Kitchener of Khartoum and Broome, Secretary of State for War, to Hamilton, informing him of the decision of the War Cabinet to replace Hamilton as General Officer Commanding Mediterranean Expeditionary Force (MEF) with Gen Sir Charles Carmichael Monro.
