Note, 14 Oct 1940, about the planned showing of a film of the TOG 1 tank

Note by Stern of a telephone message from J Reade, Secretary to the Rt Hon Sir Andrew Rae Duncan, Minister of Supply, explaining that he would not be able to attend the showing of a film of the TOG 1 tank at the Ministry of Supply on 14 Oct 1940, together with the suggestion that the showing should go ahead anyway for the benefit of the other senior members of the Minstry of Supply who had been invited. 1p

Note by Stern on a conversation with Maj Gen Vyvyan Vavasour Pope, Director of Armoured Fighting Vehicles, War Office and James G Weir, Director General of Mechanical Engineering (Design and Development), Ministry of Supply, who stated that the General Staff while satisfied with a tank trench crossing capacity of 8 feet would prefer an increase to 10 feet. 1p

Note of a telephone conversation between Ronald G Troup, Secretary, the Special Vehicle Development Committee, Ministry of Supply and Mr Chaning Pearce, Ministry of Supply stating that the Rt Hon Sir Andrew Rae Duncan, Minister of Supply was considering Stern's letter to him of 10 Jun 1942, in which he pointed out that following the enquiry of Graham Cunningham, Controller General Munitions Production, Ministry of Supply, into Stern's position at the Ministry of Supply held at the Ministry of Supply, Strand, London, 23 May 1942 and 28 May 1942, his work was at a standstill and no information was being passed to him at that time. The note further states that the minister intended to refer the matter to Graham Cunningham, Controller General Munitions Production, Ministry of Supply. 1p

Note, 11 Jul 1940, on a request to borrow an Infantry Tank Mark II for testing

Note by Stern relating to a telephone request to Capt Geoffrey Duke Burton, Director General of Tanks and Transport, Ministry of Supply, to allow the Special Vehicle Development Committee, Ministry of Supply to borrow an A12 (Infantry Tank Mark II) for twenty four hours for testing at the works of William Foster and Company, Lincoln, Lincolnshire. 1p
