King's College London Department of Biophysics

Detailed list of research equipment required in the Department of Biophysics’ new premises, 26-29 Drury Lane

Typescript memorandum by Sir John Randall, ‘Scientific equipment for the department of Biophysics University of London King’s College 26-29 Drury Lane WC2, including that required for the associated Biophysics Research Unit of the Medical Research Council’. Includes details of equipment required for the cilia and flagella research group, the nucleic acid structure research group, the nuclear and chromosome structure research group and the muscle structure research group, and for the x-ray diffraction studies of DNA and RNA, and a list of departmental staff and research students. Also copy covering letter, 2 Oct 1996, from Anthony Cooke, Department of Biosciences, University of Kent at Canterbury, sending the file to Arthur Lucas, Principal, King’s College London, with Lucas’ reply, 9 Oct 1996.

Glass 4 1/2” x 6 1/2” (12 x 16 cm) slides relating to the research of A Blaurock and W Pigram

Glass 4 1/2” x 6 1/2” (12 x 16 cm) slides relating to the research of Alan Blaurock and William Pigram, chiefly relating to x-ray diffraction studies of phospholipid membranes. Original box label, ‘Dr A Blaurock 10944-47 X-ray copy Dr W Pilgram’. Glass plates are uncaptioned, but numbered with the series numbers used in the ‘quarter plate’ series of glass slides (KDBP/1/1) and related index books (see KDBP2/1-7)
