King's College London photographs and illustrations constitute an invaluable record of students, staff, College buildings and events from the opening of the College until the present day, 1829-2000. South-Western Polytechnic, Chelsea Polytechnic, Chelsea College of Science and Technology and Chelsea College Press Cuttings, 1895-1984, comprises one box of loose press cuttings, 1895-1903, and nine volumes of cuttings covering news on the strategic and academic development of the College, on the effects of major events such as the two World Wars, advertisements for Chelsea courses, features on the College with occasional photographs, and relating to individual students and staff, including announcements of prizes and obituaries, 1903-1984.

The Office of the Principal supports the academic and administrative work of the College's chief officer. Ronald Montagu Burrows was Principal of King's from 1913 until 1920, following a distinguished career as Professor of Greek at University College, Cardiff (1898-1908) and the University of Manchester (1908-1913).
