King's College London Artefacts, 1792-2013. This collection comprises various diverse material objects relating to King's College London, notably including printing blocks bearing the impression of College interiors and its exterior, a silver King's brooch, various King's prizes and sporting and academic medals, the Common Seal of King's, Associate of King's College costume, the College's arms on various surfaces, Library stamps and quills, embroidered badges, and various items found behind a fireplace in Somerset House East Wing, 1792-2013.

Papers of William James Entwistle collection, [1945-1947] comprising correspondence to and from Entwistle regarding the Chronicle of John I of Portugal and also includes a draft edition of the first 136 chapters,[1945-1947].

The correspondence section notably includes a letter, in Portuguese script, from Florentino dos Santos Cardoso, of Évora Public Library, to William James Entwistle, 1945, concerning the Chronica de El Rei D. João I by Fernão Lopes and a reproduction made and held by the Évora Public Library. Florentino dos Santos Cardoso asks Entwistle whether he would be interested in purchasing a complete reproduction. Correspondence also includes a letter from Entwistle to Edgar Prestage (1881-1949), regarding the printing of the final chapters of Chronicle of John I of Portugal , 1945; letter from Entwistle to Prestage regarding the progress of the printing of a complete copy of Chronicle of John I of Portugal , suggesting the proofs are the 'pre first edition of book which will never appear', 1947.

The collection also includes a copy of the unpublished text of Chronicle of John I of Portugal [1945-1946], written by Fernão Lopes 1380-1459.

Collection comprises correspondence with Philip Hammersley Leathes, manuscript papers, diaries, devotionals, dictionaries and pedigree rolls, title deeds and indentures, printed books and pamphlets, catalogues and the manuscripts of the architect, John Carter, [1350-1863]. Notably including correspondence from George Nayler of the College of Arms and Nicholas Carlisle, Secretary of the Society of Antiquaries, relating to publications of the Society, discoveries of antique brass plate, and the exchange of manuscripts between antiquaries, [1790-1838]; loose manuscript papers collected by Leathes, describing ornamentation in early printed devotionals, a fictional narrative entitled 'The amorous Jill: A tale', narrative of the Lisbon earthquake of 1755, notes relating to the observation of comets, including the comet of 1811, copies of charters of the reigns of Edward IV and Henry VII, papers relating to the Portland Vase, British Museum, fragments describing inscription on newly discovered brass plate, 1747-1829; pedigree rolls tracing the lineage of the English Crown, [1450, 1762]; manuscript volumes including collection of biblical extracts, liturgical handbook, autograph book with colour illustrations, antiquarian ephemera such as funeral memorials, armorials and the creation of nobles, volume by Francis Harrison entitled, 'The elements of navigation' with colour charts, tables and illustrations, dictionaries of Celtic and Saxon words, notes on the teaching of mathematics, commonplace book drawing on ancient and modern authors, manuscript diary including progress of architectural tour of Europe; title deeds and indentures for families in Nottingham, Southampton, London and Hungerford, residency certificates in Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire, 1650-1751; printed books and pamphlets on the subjects of antiquarianism, genealogy and architecture, 1778-1853; manuscripts of John Carter, architect, acquired at his death in 1817 by his executor, Leathes, notably including autobiographical notebooks by Carter describing architectural subjects and tours, commonplace book, correspondence with Leathes, loose notes on linguistics and the ships of the Russia Company, obituaries of Carter and sale catalogue from his estate, 1700-1818; manuscript catalogues and display captions relating to the Leathes' papers, King's College London, 1819, 1837.

Autograph book belonging to Arthur Leonard Moss, inscribed June 8 1905; comprises photographs, signatures and messages from students of the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Science at King's College London.

Photographs are enclosed loosely within the book and comprise four unidentified images, photograph 1: black and white photograph of an unidentified man, wearing climbers' clothing and standing on a hill overlooking a mountain range, [1905-1907]; photograph 2: black and white portrait style photograph of an unidentified woman, wearing glasses and a necklace, stamp on reverse reads 'portrait by Reavy, 40 King Street, Manchester and Chorlton', [1905-1907]; photograph 3: black and white postcard photograph of unidentified young girl, standing by a sundial in a garden, [1905-1907]; photograph 4: black and white postcard photograph of young boy seated on a cushion, [1905-1907].

Handwritten messages within the book, are all dated between 1905-1907 and vary in style but include messages of goodwill from friends, notably one enclosing a dried plant stem intended as a charm; poems; sketches and quotations from famous poets.

Isaac] Disraeli and Samuel Wilberforce; Christmas cards; the visiting card of S T P Kruger, President of the Transvaal Republic, 1903; menus, including the House of Commons Coronation luncheon in Westminster Hall, 1902; a ticket to the coronation of Edward VII, 1902; and an invitation to a party at Windsor Castle, 1912. Otherwise the collection comprises research notes and transcriptions on various subjects and sources, including Restoration period Portugal; Sousa Coutinho; Portuguese in Africa, Brazil and Asia; the War of the Spanish Succession; 17th century Portuguese history, including diplomacy; the sermons of Father Antonio Vieira SJ; Portuguese bibliographies prepared by Prestage; annotated typescripts on the Portuguese in Abyssinia down to 1543, aspects and results of Portuguese colonisation, and Portuguese reminiscences (1948); Prestage's 'The Mode of Government in Portugal during the Restoration Period'; photographs of Portuguese fortresses in Morocco; notebook on 'Analyse das "Cartas Familiares" '; copies of letters of F de Sousa, including his embassies to France and Rome; copies of letters of Sir R Southwell, English ambassador to Lisbon; material relating to relations between Spain and Portugal; pamphlets and articles of Prestage; proofs for a chapter entitled 'L'Intevention Anglaise dans la Peninsule Iberique', in an envelope addressed to Prestage and labelled 'D Fernando & the Holy See by E Perroy'.

George Charles Moore Smith's undated transcripts, first lines and titles of 17th-century poems before 1660. The sources include British Library Additional MSS, MSS Sloane, Lansdowne, Dyce, Harleian and Egerton; Oxford University, Bodleian Library, MS Ashmole, MS Malone, MS Rawlinson Poet; Corpus Christi Library, Oxford, MS 32B; Cambridge University Library, Add MS 4138; manuscripts at St John's, Emmanuel, Jesus and Corpus Christi Colleges, Cambridge; commonplace books including those by Anthony Scattergood and W E Preston; poets including Anthony Sleep, Thomas Coriat, Peter Hausted (Halstead), Edward Forset, John Eliot, Henry Molle and Thomas Masters. Much of the material is written on the reverse of examination scripts in English (some identified as University of Sheffield).
