Published proceedings of the 1968 and 1969 conferences of the Medical Group of the Standing Conference of Societies Registered for Adoption (subsequently renamed the Association of British Adoption Agencies), including texts of the first and second Hilda Lewis Memorial Lectures, 'Assessment for adoption' by Prof Ronald Stanley Illingworth, and 'The selection of adopters: questions regarding authority and reasoning' by David Kirk, Journal of the Association of British Adoption Agencies (later renamed again, as British Agencies for Adoption and Fostering), 1971, including the third Memorial Lecture, 'The dark side of adoption', by Christopher Ounsted. Three editions of Adoption and fostering, the Journal of British Agencies for Adoption and Fostering, 1987, 1989 and 1990, including the nineteenth, twentieth and twenty-first Memorial Lectures: 'Prediction in child care', by Sula Wolff; 'The health needs of young people in care', by Jean Harris Hendriks'; 'What do children need from parents?' by Dora Black.
