Scope and content
University of London Registry microfiche records of King's College London undergraduate and postgraduate students, 1971-1989. Student examination results and some transcript information, mainly from the 1950s until present, is held by the Transcripts Office of the External and Internal Student Administration Office of the University of London under the University Registry and this material represents a copy of sections of records relevant to King's College originally supplied by the King's Registry. Individual fiche items take the form of transcripts. Information typically contained includes name, matriculation number, date of birth, nationality, home and term-time address, previous education, transferrals, major and minor subjects, marks, value, degree awarded, date of award and comments.

Student names are listed alphabetically on index fiche and give the students' USR number under which the subsequent numbered fiche is organised.

Biographical history
The University of London was established in 1836 as a degree awarding body until its refoundation in 1900 when it adopted the federal structure of the modern teaching University. The Registry is responsible for the organisation and audit of academic and educational provision throughout the University, most notably in overseeing examinations and academic assessment exercises.
