Pair of ‘turn-over’ flintlock pistols, with revolving double barrels and steel mounts, also known as Wender pistols, made by Thomas Deveux, Liege, c 1685 [information kindly supplied by Mark Murray Flutter, Senior Curator Firearms and Weapons, Royal Armouries, Leeds, 2016]. Exhibited in the former George III Museum as an example of the application of heat, and loaned to the Science Museum, 1927-2014.
