Manuscript letters to the Secretary of King’s College London including Michael Solomon Alexander (1799-1845), Professor of Hebrew and Rabbinical Literature, requesting permission to take a sabbatical to accept a post as British Chaplain in Cronstadt, Russia; William H Allen & Co, forwarding a book on the botany of the Himalayas by John Forbes Royle (1798-1858), Professor of Materia Medica and Therapeutics for the College Library. Also includes the resignation of Joseph Anstice (1808-1836), Professor of Classical Literature due to ill health and the unsuccessful application of Edwin Atherstone (1788-1872), poet and writer, to teach elocution at the College.
