King’s College London Secretary’s in-correspondence from respondents with surnames or topics beginning with the letter E, including Joseph Edwards ([1802-1875]), Assistant Master of King’s College School, informing the College that his assistant, Richard Hodgeson, was lodging at his house and recommending he be officially recognized as a member of the College (later appointed Assistant Master; James Elmes (1782-1862), writer on architecture, proposing to teach Philosophy of the Fine Arts; Thomas Edge, gas apparatus manufacturer, requesting the return of oil lamps borrowed by the College.
