Manuscript letters to the Secretary of King’s College London including Charles Wheatstone (1802-1875), Professor of Experimental Philosophy, requesting funds to buy apparatus for his course; Hugh C Jones, Headmaster of West Ham Grammar School, requesting permission to bring his school into union with the College, (‘Schools in Union’ were district and other grammar schools which the College awarded an annual scholarship and other privileges). Also includes a draft of the rules and regulations of the Worsley scholarship (founded by Major General Sir Henry Worsley (1768-1841), army officer in the East India Company in 1834, to fund the education of missionaries to India).
