Manuscript volume of surgical in-patient case notes compiled on behalf of William Fergusson, Professor of Surgery, King's College London, and Surgeon to the Hospital, notably including syphilitic and other ulceration, fractures and dislocations, chronic inflammation and the surgical treatment of tumours. With sketches. This volume includes the first use of chloroform at King's by John Snow, epidemiologist and anaesthetist, and at that time a colleague of Fergusson. Patient descriptions often include name, age, place of origin and current abode, occupation, and health history. Indexed in chronological order with names of patients, disease and outcome. 1 volume.
