Manuscript volume of surgical in-patient case notes compiled by House Surgeons and Dressers on behalf of William Fergusson, Professor of Surgery, King's College London, notably describing the treatment of fractures, ulceration, and the extraction of tumours, mainly of the jaw, tongue, and breast. With an early chart illustrating a patient's temperature and pulse rate over time and a sketch of a demonstration in progress showing a man with surgical instruments laid out before him. Patient descriptions often include name, age, place of origin and current abode, occupation and health history.
