Copy war diary of 'Q' Staff Command Post during operations by the BEF (British Expeditionary Force) in France and Belgium, 1940, including details of activities of the 'Q' Staff Advance and Rear General Headquarters, notably links with Belgian and French officials; the creation of railheads for supplies, petrol, ammunition, ambulance and personnel trains; rail movement and reports of damage to railway routes; movement of troops and tanks; details of the state of telephone and wireless communications; the creation of plans to organise the provision of food, ammunition, medical equipment and the evacuation of personnel during the withdrawal of the BEF (British Expeditionary Force) to the French coast, 18-24 May 1940; attempts to open new bases at Dunkirk, Boulogne and Calais for emergency shipments of supplies, 19 May 1940.
