Papers of Cdr John Bertram Aubrey Marsden Smedley, comprising photocopies of correspondence, 1913-1920, principally comprising letters to his parents, 1913-1920, including letter written from HMS MINOTAUR, China Station describing naval manoeuvres during a rebellion in Shanghai, 1913, and letter written from HMS VEGA describing tour of duty in the Baltic, 1920. Two copy photographs, one of HMS LYDIARD, [1914-1915], and one of Marsden Smedley, [1913-1920].

Copies made by the Centre in 1986 from originals loaned by the family.
