Walter Kirke to Frederick Barton Maurice. Correcting some statements the Duke of Northumberland had been prepared to endorse. MacPherson only informed of mistake after the speech. Kirke saw Kerr some days after the speech and no doubt discussed question of remistatement, but does not remember his making an offer as suggested by Frederick Barton Maurice.
