Letter to Robertson from Gen Sir (Francis) Reginald Wingate, High Commissioner of Egypt, on the Third Battle of Gaza, Palestine, and its implications for the situation in the Hedjaz, including the possibility of the evacuation from Medina of the Turkish force led by Turkish commander Fakhri Din Pasha; the capture of Lt Col Stewart Francis Newcombe by the Turks; the need for Capt Thomas Edward Lawrence, Official British Advisor to Feisal Ibn Hussein, to be given a rest in the near future; Wingate's recommendation of Col Cyril Edward Wilson, British Military and Political Representative in the Hedjaz, for a CMG. Includes copies of letters from Wilson thanking Wingate for his efforts on his behalf, and a letter from Wingate to the Rt Hon Sir Ronald (William) Graham, Under-Secretary to the Foreign Office, requesting that Wilson be allowed to wear British uniform. 6pp.
