The 15th century manuscript of Statius' Thebais was, according to an inscription in the front cover, purchased by Enk on 31 January 1942 in an auction at 'J F Boyers Antiquariaat, N. V.'. The manuscript contains the reference 'Phillips ms 9088'.
Custodial history
The Enk papers were among the Professor Enk's library, comprising some 14,000 books and pamphlets, purchased by King's College London Library in 1961.
