Note by Stern of a meeting with Sir William Scott Douglas, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Supply and Ralph Assheton, M P, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Supply at which Douglas asked for an estimate of the cost of finishing the TOG 2 tank and informed Stern that particulars of the Special Vehicle Development Committee, Ministry of Supply were to be added to the Ministry of Supply Directory. 1p

Report by Stern of an interview with Sir James Lithgow, Chairman, Tank Board at which Lithgow proposed that trials of the TOG 2 tank at the Experimental Establishment, Farnborough, Hampshire should take place in the first instance before the Tank Board or Tank Executive Committee who could then recommend a trial before the General Staff and the two men discussed matters relating to Stern's proposed appointment as Director General of Administration and Statistics, Ministry of Supply. 1p

Note by Stern of an interview with US Col G A Green, Mission of William Averell Harriman, US Special Envoy to the UK at which Green provided Stern with a drawing of a Side Seal Assembly made by the Yellow Truck and Coach Manufacturing Company, Pontiac, Michigan US for use in heavy tank construction and informed Stern of arrangements during his absence abroad. 1p

Notes by Stern of a conversation with US Col G A Green, Mission of William Averell Harriman, US Special Envoy to the UK in the course of which Stern noted that the decision to import US light tanks and medium tanks with a heavier armour by the end of 1943 marked the end of tank development in the UK and Green stated that trials of the US Heavy Tank T1 had shown that Stern had been right about electric transmission and the use of a heavy gun and heavier armour. 2pp
